Abstract

The study was conducted at the Al Amin Madania Orphanage, Sleman, Yogyakarta. provides an overview of children with disabilities. In general, children develop according to the level of development in line with the increasing age and experience. but these developments differ from those of abnormally developed disabilities. Islamic education provides an alternative learning to shape the character of the child with disability, because in PAI there is a process of character building of children with religion based, culture, environment and self potential. For the purpose of character building of children with disabilities of elementary school age reaches the goal, then the role of parents, teachers in schools and in society must have a common goal in accordance with their duties and functions respectively. Especially the community, because in the environment the existence of children with disabilities are living the real life and prove the educational goals that they have actually gained
