Abstract
The purpose of this research is to study the effects of Kapok Sead Meal (KSM) utilization in concentrate on ration comsumtion, digestibility and milk production. Nine lactatic cows FH at the average body weight of 380-438 kg were used in this experiment, arranged in random block complied design 3 x 3 with 3 ration and 3 block. The treatments applied were R0 (Elephant grass + conventional concentrate consisting of 15% copra meal and 15% soyabean cake meal), R1 (Elephant grass + concentrate consisting of 15% KSM) and R2 (Elephant grass + concentrate consisting of 30% KSM). The variable observed in this research were the dry matter intake (DMI), organic matter intake (OMI), crude protein intake (CPI), digestibility of DM and CP, and milk production. The result indicates that the average of feed intake (DMI and OMI), digestibility (DM and CP), and milk production was not significantly different (P>0.05). The used of 30% KSM can be substituted copra meal and soyabean cake meal without to get the advantages for KSM, it is suggested to use KSM 30% in the concentrate.
