Abstract
The high load of online learning during the pandemic of COVID-19 resulted in a low motivation for students to achieve the academic goal and became a concern. The difference in students’ backgrounds and conditions also contribute to the issue. This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of nursing students at X University in Malang while participating in online learning. The whole students who were actively participating in online lectures and classes and registered as college students at University X Malang became the study population. About 76 participants were calculated using the Slovin formula and recruited using simple random sampling techniques. The students' learning motivation was assessed using a questionnaire, and thirty-four questions were proven for reliability and validity. Data were analyzed using the univariate test. The results showed about 65.8% of students experience a good learning motivation, 59.2% of students had well expectations, learning environment, and interest in learning using online methods, 67.1% of students showed good learning goals, and 50% of the students have sufficient learning material during class. It is recommended to dig and explore more about psychologically feeling while participating in online learning classes
