Abstract
On January 1, 2015 Kelurahan Dadaprejo established a garbage bank program called Bank Sampah Mandiri which is expected to overcome the problem of garbage. In the implementation of the garbage bank program, it is needed the participation of the community actively so that the garbage bank program can be realized properly and sustainably. The purpose of this study was to determine the participation of the community, the factors that influence and the impact of community participation in the implementation of independent garbage bank program. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data source was obtained from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques used observation, interview and documentation. Informant determination technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques conducted by reduction, presentation and conclusion. Meanwhile the data validity used technique triangulation. The participation of Kelurahan Dadaprejo community in the implementation of the independent garbage bank program has been well implemented, the community was involved in every activity. The factors that affecting community participation to participate run well and the capacity of the community to participate was not based on the level of education. As well as the impact of Dadaprejo community participation has managed to make the environment cleaner and healthier.
